Maintenance & guarantee
UNO products are manufactured from the most suitable materials and finishes available. When properly maintained they will give many years of quality service.
Aluminium
Cleaning should start at the time the products are installed, ensuring that construction materials such as concrete, plaster, and paint splashes are removed before they have a chance to dry. Failure to remove these materials at this early stage will require the use of aggressive cleaning materials and techniques with potential damage to the powdercoated surface.
The best method of cleaning is by regular washing of the coating using a solution of warm water and a nonabrasive, pH-neutral detergent solution. Surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed after cleaning to remove all residues.
All surfaces should be cleaned using a soft cloth, sponge, or a soft natural bristle brush. Cleaning of powdercoated sections can be conveniently carried out at the same time as window cleaning.
Glass
We recommend that you clean your glass with a mild detergent, a nonabrasive cleaner, or a glass-specific cleaning product using a soft cloth, sponge, or a soft natural bristle brush and then thoroughly rinse to remove all residues.
In order to prevent water spots, it's important that all water and cleaning solution is dried from the window gaskets, sealants, and frames.
Tips:
- Ensure construction materials such as concrete, plaster, and paint splashes are removed before they have a chance to dry.
- Do not use scrapers on glass.
- Use mild detergents, nonabrasive cleaners, or glass-specific cleaning products only.
- It is best to avoid cleaning tinted and reflective glass surfaces in direct sunlight.
All UNO windows, doors, and accessories are designed and manufactured to the highest standards.
At UNO we use the Interpon powdercoat range. Interpon is the largest global manufacturer of powdercoatings and a world leader in powdercoating technology. Interpon offers a 15-year colour retention and film integrity warranty. All powdercoat applied by an Interpon approved applicator is covered by this warranty.
In terms of hardware, we use Yale and Aria hardware across all of our aluminium windows and doors. These ranges are New Zealand made, suited to our environment, and cycle tested to ensure they are reliable. Both the Yale and Aria hardware come with a 10-year mechanical warranty. However, their lifetime is generally much longer than the warranty period.
