118 Wadestown Road is a multi-residential development on a corner site in Wadestown, Wellington, where Wadestown Road meets Hanover Street. The townhouses were designed by Solari Architects and built by MRG.

For the joinery, the client and architect wanted a cost-effective window and door package that would still meet the thermal requirements of the Building Code.

Scope

Delivering 87 window and door units that meet thermal compliance

UNO was specified for the project and supplied 87 window and door units across the development — awning and fixed windows alongside hinged and sliding doors.

Thermal compliance was the focus of UNO's scope. The joinery had to meet the code, and the client and architect asked for a solution that did so cost-effectively.

Solution

A cost-effective UNO Non-Thermal window and door package

The joinery package uses the UNO Non-Thermal suite, paired with Clear Low-E glass to meet thermal compliance without adding unnecessary cost.

Every window and door is finished in Matt Flaxpod powdercoat, a key UNO colour, which suits the dark cladding and brick of the townhouses.

The units were delivered to site by trailer and installed by the builders.
