Located at 12 Hollard Grove in Avalon, Lower Hutt, this multi-residential development brings modern, comfortable homes to the Hutt Valley. The project was designed and built by Miles Construction, who took it from concept through to construction.

With a Homestar rating as a goal for the development, the joinery package needed to cover a wide range of window and door configurations while staying within the project budget and build timeline.

Scope

Delivering 106 window and door units to budget and programme

UNO worked with Miles Construction from the early stages of the project, reviewing window and door configurations to find the right fit for the design, the budget and the build timeline.

In total, UNO supplied 106 window and door units — casement, awning and fixed windows alongside hinged, sliding and stacking doors.

With the development working towards a Homestar rating, UNO also provided the technical information Miles Construction needed to support the rating.

Solution

An efficient UNO Thermal window and door package

The joinery package uses the UNO Thermal suite, chosen to improve thermal performance and support warm, comfortable homes across the development.

Every window and door is finished in Matt Flaxpod powdercoat, a key UNO colour, and glazed with Clear Low-E glass to help keep heat in while letting natural light through.

By reviewing configurations early and working to the project budget and timeline, UNO gave Miles Construction a joinery package that suited the design and the programme. The units were delivered to site by trailer and installed by the builders.
