The client
MRGL & The Urbanary
Inspired by the rich Italian heritage of Island Bay, ISOLA is a boutique development designed to reflect the character and charm of this much-loved seaside suburb. Meaning "island" in Italian, the name pays tribute to the area's historic Italian community and coastal setting.
Designed by The Urbanery and constructed by MRGL, the development comprises eight contemporary two-bedroom townhouses created for modern living. Each home features a sunny north-facing outdoor area and a carefully considered layout that balances practicality, comfort, and quality finishes.
UNO was selected to supply the aluminium joinery package based on our reliable delivery systems, clear communication, and ability to support efficient project execution.
Scope
Supporting modern coastal living
ISOLA was designed to deliver stylish, low-maintenance homes in one of Wellington's most desirable coastal suburbs.
The development required an aluminium joinery package that would complement the clean architectural design while supporting comfortable, energy-efficient living. Large glazed areas were incorporated throughout the homes to maximise natural light and strengthen the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Key project requirements included:
- Improved thermal performance for everyday comfort
- Reliable communication throughout the project
- Efficient delivery to support construction timelines
- Large glazed openings to maximise natural light
- Consistent quality across all eight homes
With construction timelines to meet, dependable supply and efficient coordination were essential to ensuring the project progressed smoothly.
