Maribel Apartments is a thoughtfully designed development of 34 residences on Boundary Street in central Queenstown. Designed by Novak + Middleton and developed and constructed by GibbonsCo, the project combines contemporary apartment living with its distinctive alpine and riverside setting.

The development continues UNO’s established relationships with both project partners. Our previous work with GibbonsCo includes projects such as Five Mile Villas, Lake House Villas, The Crest Chalets Campbell Village and, while our work with Novak + Middleton includes Dawson Apartments in New Plymouth.

Early input for H1 compliance and efficient construction

UNO has been involved from the early stages of the project, supporting the team as the aluminium window and door package is developed.

With 172 window and door units planned across 34 residences, UNO provided input around H1 construction R-values, joinery details, configurations and finishes. This early involvement is helping ensure the specified solution meets the project’s thermal requirements while also considering efficient manufacturing, delivery and installation for the builders on site.

How does UNO help you comply with H1 Requirements?

The project will use the UNO Thermal Suite paired with Clear Low E Glazing, providing a thermally improved aluminium joinery solution suited to Queenstown's climate.

UNO’s early involvement has allowed details and configurations to be reviewed before manufacturing, helping establish a practical joinery package that supports thermal performance and efficient installation.

The planned combination of fixed and awning windows and hinged doors will provide natural light, ventilation and practical access throughout the apartments while helping connect the interiors with the surrounding Queenstown landscape.

A combination of 172 fixed and awning windows and hinged doors is planned across the 34 dual-key residences, supporting natural light, ventilation and everyday functionality.

Low-E glazing helps reduce heat transfer while maintaining excellent clarity and natural light, supporting improved energy efficiency and comfortable apartment living.

Clear Low-E Glaze

Clear Low E Glazing helps reduce heat transfer while maintaining clarity and natural light, contributing to improved energy efficiency and comfortable interiors.

UNO Thermal Suite

UNO Thermal uses thermally broken aluminium framing to reduce heat transfer through the joinery. Paired with Clear Low E Glazing, the suite improves thermal performance and helps the homes meet their required H1 construction R-values.

Awning Windows

Awning windows combine natural light with controlled ventilation, supporting thermal performance and everyday comfort.

Sliding & Stacking Doors

Fixed windows will maximise areas of uninterrupted glazing, bringing natural light into the residences and making the most of views towards the surrounding landscape.
